Operational Risk Analyst

  • Further develop operational risk procedures on Risk events, Risk and Control Assessment, Key Risk Indicators and other operational risk topics
  • Provide necessary support to Business / Support areas to ensure these procedures are implemented
  • Actively participate in delivering Operational Risk training to staff
  • Build relationship and maintain continuous communication with Operational Risk Champions of the departments
  • Actively participate in establishment of Key Risk Indicators in Business / Function areas, participate in establishing thresholds
  • Provide support to Business / Function Heads in Risk Event logging, ensuring there is clear understanding of what constitutes an event and what course of action should be followed
  • Maintain quality data in Op Risk system, ensure events are logged, and actions arising from events are followed upon
  • Contribute to the Risk and Control Self-Assessment process into the Business / Functions
  • Collect KRI data from Business / Function heads on a monthly basis and analyse prior to submission
  • Effect risk analysis of agreements, new products, non-standard deals, provide risk opinion and approve as per authorities granted
  • Contribute to the further implementation of risk aspects of Charles River IT platform
  • Providing data for and ensuring the accuracy of relevant disclosures relating to risk management for Company and/or its individual funds
  • Identifying and escalating, through the Company risk governance framework, instances where operational risks fall outside of stated risk appetite.
  • New products risk analysis to ensure adequacy to risk tolerance level of respective product and possible negative impact on Company capital.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of the regulatory requirements relating to risk to which Company and its individual funds are subject and ensuring that the risk management processes of the respective entities are compliant with those requirements.
  • Support to Company employees regarding risk culture implementation (through operational risk studies and presentations, consultations, etc.).
  • Addressing new regulatory requirements to professional market participants.

Key Competencies & Qualifications

  • Higher education is a must; advanced in economics, finance or natural sciences is preferred
  • Over 5 years working experience in an operational risk position in Risk Management within investment management, investment banking or banking is a must. Candidates with experience in senior positions in Compliance, Internal Audit, Back-office are applicable as well.
  • Deep knowledge of operational business processes in investment management company is preferred
  • Practical knowledge of operational risk techniques and practices is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Solid knowledge of Russian financial markets and products is a must; knowledge of international markets is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English and leadership skills
  • Advanced level in English is a must

  • Ability to work under pressure
