Network Engineering team lead

Principal Responsibilities

  • Managing the Network Engineering team that is part of global Network and Voice function
  • To be responsible for network architectureglobally
  • Lead R&D processes within the Network Engineering team scope
  • Deploy, maintain and uphold global Networks architecture standards and services
  • Provide engineering, design, deployment and documentation of global Networkinfrastructure
  • Perform role of network architect in projects where Network Engineering team resources are involved
  • Perform role of project manager in single domain (network) project
  • Ability to document procedures and train others to support across all Networks and Voice services
  • Global representation of the Networks Engineering team in meetings. Global representation of Network changes at Change Advisory Boards
  • Taking part in budgeting and procurement processes related to supported function
  • Global and regional vendor management.

Essential and Required Skills

  • Experience to manage a team of more than 5 people
  • ITIL knowledge and experience
  • Excellent Architectural Skills
  • Cisco routing and switching skills to CCIE level or equivalent years of experience.
  • Operational and design experience of:
    • Excellent knowledge in Cisco campus network technologies with practical experience of implementation
    • Excellent knowledge in Cisco Datacentre networks including Cisco ACI and Cisco EVPN technologies with practical experience of implementation
    • Excellent knowledgein advanced routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.)with practical experience of implementation
    • Excellent knowledgein QoSwith practical experience of implementation
    • Excellent knowledgein Cisco Security Solutions including Firewalls, VPN (S2S and RA) and network infrastructure security featureswith practical experience of implementation
    • Experience of working with Symantec Web Proxies, Checkpoint firewalls, Citrix Netscaler load-balancers, Riverbed WAN optimisers, PulseSecure Remote Access gateways /Cisco Anyconnect Solution
    • Experience of working with Monitoring Systems
    • Providers based technologies (MPLS, VPLS etc)
    • NFV, SDN, SD-WAN
  • Experience with:
    • Troubleshooting, resolving and if required performing configuration changes during major outages
    • Risk and Incident assessment/management  and change control
    • Working as part of a 24/7 global team and organization
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • A team player with energy and a desire to learn and progress in a fast moving, demanding environment
  • Exposure and understanding of the different types of Business/Finance applications used in an Investment bank
  • Technology lifecycle management of the voice infrastructure including software/ hardware upgrades and also voice system transformation projects

Highly Desirable Skills & Certifications

  • Project management according to PMBoK
  • Good understanding of Windows/Linux, AD, LDAP, Storage , Backup and other IT infrastructure related services
  • Automation skills (Python), bash
